As ideology seems to be increasingly understood by common folk—enriching the worldview/lexicon of contemporary trends—it, paradoxically, remains 1 of the most obscure and puzzling concepts in academia.

What is it, I wonder, that makes laymen so sure, and specialists so confused?

Hip-hoppers haven't aged yet. Old rockers (like McCartney) prove their genre forgives age. But when Pitchfork says Kanye's a "hollowed-out shell"—blaming "middle age"—they dismissed one of hip-hop's first geriatric insights. "Bully" is a blunt blend of MC-ing and showrunning.

Art, as opposed to non-fiction books (essays), will always betray flawed premises (regardless of how beautiful your piece turns out to be).

And that is because it's already overly generous—it accepts even fictitious premises! (a thing academia, for example, will not).
